With 5 boys that are all computer geeks on one level or another, it was inevitable that we would be "trekkies". I can't really put the blame on them - I probably watched more Star Trek growing up than Steve. I went to the premier of the first Star Trek movie with my brother David. We got into the first showing because we didn't care if we sat together (they were filling up all the leftover individual seats). Our family faithfully watched most of the Star Trek spin-offs and movies over the years. So here's my top Seven countdown of favorite Star Trek characters (in no particular order):
7. "Q"
6. Data
5. Barclay
4. Spock
3. Scotty
2. Seven of Nine (occasionally nicknamed "the Borg Queen", her complete Borg designation was:'Seven of Nine, Tertiary Adjunct of Unimatrix Zero'. )
1. Captain Kirk
(one week - 7 days left)

Why do I get the feeling that the doctor was explaining "first contact" to more than just Seven?
Yeah, all those 40 year old trekkies still living in their mothers basement. You could consider it in the light of a public service announcement.
(I thought you might get a kick out of "fortress ovum")
7 days? As in 1 week? I have to explain that there are 7 days in a week a lot around our house.
I want you to know I use your son an awful lot as an excuse to bring up the church. Woe betide you if ever you lived in a Southern state.
"My nephew just spent two years there..."
