Doughnuts, the Sequel

In keeping with my tradition of hard hitting journalism, I would like to follow up my in depth analysis of doughnut availability in Marysville with the question.....

What's your favorite doughnut?

I'm partial to a really good bismark, fresh maple bars and even fresher crullers. I also really like those little mini "donettes" that come in a little package - the kind that have a coconut/crumb coating.

A nice glazed old-fashioned. Chocolate glazed round doughnuts.

And, yes, dang it...crumb donettes.

Glazed old fashioned. With chocolate milk.

Love an 'old fashioned' & a french twist, but would do almost anything for a custard filled glazed. The ONLY Krispy Kreme I like is their glazed. Dad likes a good 'old fashioned as well, but will always take a fresh glazed Krispy Kreme!

I'm with you, love a bismark with Bavarian creme. I also like a maple bar, although I can't eat one without thinking about Springfield's school lunch. (surprisingly, that's a good thing) I also like old fashioned. The only thing I really don't like is sprinkles. I am totally up for a doughnut run about now.
So it took becoming a Seminary teacher to advance your doughnut awareness? We live about 6 miles from Church, out in the country you could say. Up until last spring there was one business between us and the church, a doughnut shop. That's where I went unless I went to Krispy Kreme on Thursday night.

I'm less than 3 miles from church, but there are no businesses between here and there - so I have to add at least 2 to 4 miles to get doughnuts. Which is why I make cinnamon rolls and coffee cake (we call it cocoa cake - even though there's no cocoa in it)on the other weeks - it's easier than leaving the house 15 to 20 minutes earlier to get doughnuts. And cheaper.

I'm with you on the sprinkles. Yuk.

Fresh maple bar or glazed donut holes (they are just one bite and 10 calories right?)
