Cookie Interlude.

In between morning classes and afternoon classes comes lunch, right?

Rrrright.

During the hour or so that Cosette was gone for lunch I frosted a bunch of cookies for my seminary class...and FHE treat (always do double duty whenever you can, that's my motto). My back is killing me, but I got the cookies done - I just have to wrap them - after the frosting dries out a bit.

These cookies are to be used as an object lesson about giving thanks. I'll hand them out at the beginning of class and take mental note of how many students say thank you. Then I will compare them to the 10 lepers (see Luke 17). I'm curious to see what the percentage of thankful/unthankful are. Should be fun.

Nice job Deb! Lauren wants to make a bunch for the Thanksgiving table now. Can she come over Wednesday to that with you?

They would make a lovely centerpiece. She's welcome to come over - I should be done with school around 10 or 11am.

Gives new meaning to the term, "You really frost my cookies."

Those are so pretty.

LOL, Keira that was very punny.

Debbie, they turned out great. I bet you're thankful to have 10 in your class and not 25.

How'd the lesson go this morning?

I only had 9 kids today and at least 3 said thank you loud enough for me to hear. They all said thank you later on in the lesson when I compared it to the lepers. It was pretty fun. I also had them write a thank you note to someone...but I first stipulated that it couldn't be anyone in our classroom - I wanted them to think "outside the box".

3 is better than 1. I bet your seminary kids REALLY like you. Food was such a great motivator when I was in seminary.
