After spending most of the week in Portland, I didn't feel much like going out last night. That's okay - I had set the DVR to record a few movies while we were gone. Steve and I spent an enjoyable couple of hours watching "Forbidden Planet". It came out in 1956 and was nominated for an Academy Award for special effects. For a movie made in 1956 I have to say it does have pretty awesome special effects. The only irritating thing about it was the soundtrack - which was pretty heavy on eerie sci-fi type noises.My favorite line from the movie "MY MAD SELF IS AT THE DOOR AND I CAN'T STOP IT!!!!" I'm going to try and work that into a conversation this week.

Just the poster - not the movie...I kind of love the poster...it's so 50's.
It sounds like the kind of movie you have to mock while you watch it.
It is definitely a "mock while you watch" movie.
It looks so "B" movie...some of those are absolutely awfully fun. Is this a possible Halloween costume idea for you and Steve? If so, which one will you wear?
