May the Force be With You.

This only looks like the grape juice that Dad used to make us taste for him. This substance is distilled water and red cabbage juice. Mm, mm good. Oh wait, we didn't actually drink it...this was our "indicator" for testing acids and bases. The acid that we used was vinegar, so my house smells like a mix of cabbages and vinegar. Mm, mm....whatever. Really, it smells (and looks) like I've been coloring Easter eggs.

We finished up our unit on chemistry today. I'm hoping that means I won't be spending as much time and money at the store for our science experiments (today's purchase: red cabbage and more plastic cups).

Our next science unit: force.

Red, purple and blue...those were the colors of the day.

So Deb, you should be able to transfer all this knowledge to a 'life-learning' college credit in chemistry or at least a degree in the 'patience' it takes to be a home-school mom teacher, don't you think? At least this section is VERY colorful & pleasant to the eyes, even if NOT to the nose! :)
