Hunkering Down...

On the street where I live.

I'm done Christmas shopping.

I'm done grocery shopping.

I've taken Daniel to the orthodontist.

I am not going to go out and risk my life driving around town until the streets are clear. Or at least a lot clearer than they are right now.

I usually don't drive on the snow and ice around here, but we had already rescheduled Daniel's orthodontist appointment once because of weather, I didn't want to do it again. Besides, I thought that the roads would be slushy when I got down off the hill. Wrong. So wrong. The freeway was fine, but once off of that all bets were off. It was slippery, icy, rutted, and crowded with holiday shoppers. I narrowly avoided running into a *&@!!! idiot who ran a stop sign, then stopped in front of me on a busy street to find out why I had the nerve to honk my horn (which I did because I had no traction to stop and an oncoming truck in the other lane). Yes, I may have yelled at him (not directly - but his window was down...), I may or may not have called him an idiot...okay, okay, I'm not proud of myself, and for punishment I will ground myself from driving for at least 2 days. Probably more.

At least you didn't hit him. Anyone who wonders why they get honked at when they run a stop sign and stop in the middle of a busy road qualifies for being called an idiot.

Agree. He's an idiot.

Too bad you didn't get his license plate #. I believe in some states you can have a person declared legally brain dead and put into a coma center so as not to put the rest of humanity at risk in such cases. I do approve of the grounding. It may prolong your life...especially with that hill!

It is a known fact that ice & snow are strong magnets for idiots. Let that be a warning to you... you will ALWAYS encounter them in such conditions. (somehow they all believe they are the best drivers of ice on the road.??!!) Good plan to stay home!

Hunker down, that's the right attitude.

I like it when the road are passable, but there's still snow on the lawns. We have slightly icy roads in our neighborhood, but the main roads are dry.

Have you hit a foot of snow yet?

We had over a foot of snow yesterday - about 1/2 an inch melted today during our "heat wave" - but we have the possiblity of more snow tonight.

wahoo.

I love your 'heat wave'. It was chilly here today ... I had to wear long sleeves all day! BRRRRR! I baked and stayed toasty warm!
