As ye sew, so shall ye reap.

First of all, I blame Suzanne.

I didn't intend to make a blessing outfit for Zachery. I'm not all that crazy about sewing tiny little baby boy clothes. I planned on being a good aunt and buying a darling little outfit.
Weeks ago when I told Suzanne that Keira had opted for a blessing outfit for the baby instead of a birthday gift she suggested that I wait until AFTER Christmas to get it - that way I stood a better chance of getting a good sale price. That made sense since the store I planned on looking for an outfit tends to be very spendy. Little did I realize that Strasburg Children is no longer at our outlet mall - Tommy Hilfiger expanded into their space. I quickly checked out Gymboree, OshKosh, Children's Place, Nautica Kids and Carter's. Some cute clothes, but nothing suitable for a blessing. Tried Kohls and Ross. Bowed to the inevitable and went to Jo-Ann's.

Six hours later....

done.

Not on your life...

I like those 4 words better than "Borrow it from Keira" if you're ever asked to make another of these. I don't know that I won't start some apocryphal story about my fabulous sewing prowess to pass on in my family from generation to generation.

You're a peach, sis. And keep blaming Suzanne--that's the healthy choice.

I'll take the blame...but can I take any of the credit? That is one awesome outfit. Aren't you glad that you couldn't find an outfit forcing you to sew an adorable one of your own?

I'll forgive you - since I was able to complete it AND get it in the mail. I also got my office cleaned back up, it looked like someone had detonated a thread bomb in it.

BTW, I also mailed a package to you while I was at it (see - no hard feelings). Happy Early Birthday.

I like the apocryphal lie that you will possibly be starting soon. If you need a second to back up your story just let me know. As I told the 2nd counselor in the bishopric on Sunday, "I can be bribed." - I know of no commandment "Thou shalt not bribe".
