Our Man in Japan

Dear family,

Another week has come and gone. I hope you`re all doing alright.

Last Monday night after email since my bike didn`t work Elder Imai and I walked to a nearby station to talk with people. When the end of the night came and we decided to catch a train home we discovered that train line was temporarily closed. Further down the line someone had been hit by a train so they were dealing with that. There was also a message saying a Typhoon may be coming and if it did the trains would be closed for that as well. So after about 15 minutes of trying to figure out what to do we finally decided to start walking home, about an hour and a half away by foot. Fortunately we were able to arrange to simply walk to the next station down and borrow the Sister missionaries` bikes.

I did get an old tire from the Mission Office that was in alright condition. I took it to a bike shop and they straightened it for me. Now if I could only get gears 5 and 6 to work...I`m afraid I really don`t have much to say this week.

Sincerely,
Elder West.

Did you finish working on the backyard yet?

Is that really a satellite picture of this typhoon? It looks bigger than Japan!

Fun fact: Japan is smaller than California.

Not a picture of this typhoon. Just a random google image.
